The Blueberry Lockdrop

During the first 30 days following protocol launch, just over 5% of the $BLB supply will be distributed to lenders as $bdBLB. Lenders can provide liquidity in exchange for bTokens that receive higher $bdBLB emissions for those first two months but are subject to a 1% withdrawal fee. TGE will take place at the end of this 30-day period, at which point the one-year vest on the accrued $bdBLB during the lockdrop can be initiated by users. The initial value of $BLB used to determine acceleration fees will be lower for earlier depositors, making the early unlock option cheaper for those who deposit during the lockdrop event. The initial value of $BLB will be set based on a $20m FDV of $BLB during the first two weeks and a $40m FDV during the second two weeks.

The lockdrop facilitates the fairest token launch and post-launch distribution as is possible. Our model creates an environment for lenders, one of the most important post-launch stakeholders, to earn their rightful stake in the Blueberry DAO. Token incentives are often used to combat the "Cold Start Problem" associated with a lack of liquidity. Without liquidity, a DeFi protocol usually can't provide its core product. LPs have no incentive to provide liquidity without usage for the core product. Conversely, large token incentives often lead to mercenary capital farming and dumping tokens, harming the long-term growth of the protocol. The lockdrop model allows the protocol to decentralize while fostering long-term growth and value alignment properly.
