Bybit Identity Verification: Phased Upgrades for Enhanced Security and Compliance

As crypto adoption rises and regulations evolve, we’re enhancing security with phased upgrades to Bybit’s Identity Verification, aligning with top industry standards to better protect our users.

The upgraded Identity Verification system introduces a multi-tiered approach, offering varying access levels to meet regulatory requirements:

Standard Identity Verification (Level 1)

- New users are required to submit a valid government-issued ID along with basic personal details, such as nationality and residential address, to access standard fiat deposit and withdrawal limits.

Advanced Identity Verification (Level 2)

- Users seeking higher account limits must provide proof of address as part of enhanced verification. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), this becomes the default onboarding level, replacing Level 1 to meet stricter regional compliance standards.

Pro Identity Verification (Level 3)

- To gain unlimited access to Bybit's services, users must complete additional verification steps as part of a thorough due diligence process, ensuring the highest level of security and compliance.

Please note that this Identity Verification upgrade will take effect in Nov, 2024 and applies only to new users, with no impact on existing accounts.
