Terra has become the fastest growing blockchain in terms of lock-in volume in 2021, with approximately $17.9 billion in lock-in volume on Dec. 30, representing an annual growth rate of 35,700%.

Terra= Stablecoin DeFi Off-chain payments. Terra takes the UST as its core, with all of its products satisfied the demand of UST. Compared with the free growing and combination public chains like Ethereum, Terra is a more top-level design chain dedicated to finance. The mint of UST requires the destruction of LUNA, which is why LUNA has been rising recently.

Cardano

Cardano to launch Defi loan service in Africa by 2022, with a focus on the African market. Cardano will start by providing end-to-end microfinance transactions based on a blockchain identity and credit platform, and build a "financial operating system" eventually to extend the DeFi business to the entire African market, according to Charles Hoskinson.

Huobi Research Institute Analysis： 

Cardano's first Dex MuesliSwap has launched recently. It had launched 13 projects in Q4. There will be 11 more projects to be launched in Q1 2022, with 178 projects currently being built on Cardano. Cardanao is targeting the African market, which is a not bad positioning. The population base, low average age, unstable fiat currency system, and cross-border trade accounting for a relatively large share of GDP, all these provide a suitable soil for crypto development in the future. 

Bitcoin Spot ETF

2022 spot Bitcoin ETFs may not be issued on U.S. regulated trading platforms, according to the founder of CDC. It is estimated that U.S. regulator is going to increase the number of crypto hearings next year. 

Huobi Research Institute Analysis： 

The probability of Bitcoin spot ETFs direct passing in U.S. is relatively low from all news so far. However, BTC spot ETFs that have already been launched in other countries (e.g. Canada, Europe) may be able to offer the relevant products to Americans indirectly through some packaging or other channels and make their way eventually into the US market for investors.

According to publicly available information, Blockchain investing and financing deals over the last week reached 11 in total, or 0.118 billion USD in valuation, both the total amount and the amount were down significantly from last week.

There is no funding over $100 million this week. The largest funding is the cross-chain DeFi protocol Umee completed $32 million through Token issuance, the other larger funding mainly focused on DeFi and infrastructure areas from the track.
