Poloniex to Introduce Tiered Liquidation Mechanism
Dear Poloniex Users,
To provide better services, Poloniex is set to implement a Tiered Liquidation Mechanism for its futures trading starting Dec 2, 2024. This launch is designed to reduce the risk of full liquidation for traders.
This mechanism introduces a partial liquidation process that adjusts positions based on traders' net position size tiers. Rather than liquidating the entire position when the margin ratio falls below zero, the mechanism reduces the position incrementally to the upper limit of a lower tier until the margin ratio exceeds zero, at which point liquidation stops. If the margin ratio still remains negative when the net position size reaches Tier 1, the entire position will be liquidated.

The tiered liquidation process will not incur additional fees beyond standard trading charges. Poloniex reserves the right to modify the above tiers based on market conditions. Traders are advised to monitor official announcements for updates.
The tiered liquidation mechanism will automatically apply to new trading pairs as they are launched, and updates to existing data will be reflected in this announcement without further notice.
