EVER Token Update

In line with the recently ratified Proposal #109, the Everscale DeFi Alliance initiated the stipulated agreement. Regrettably, despite our stringent due diligence procedures, the South Korean counterparty engaged in deceitful activities, misappropriating 212,119,114 WEVER ERC-20 tokens, which led to a sharp decline in the EVER token's market value on several exchanges. This was not the result of any security breach or hack.

On a brighter note, a significant portion of the native tokens (over 100M) has been salvaged. The remaining tokens are presently held in the Octus Bridge vault, represented as WEVER TIP-3.

In collaboration with South Korean law enforcement agencies and centralized exchanges, the Alliance is taking active measures to expedite the recovery of the misappropriated funds and stabilize the market:

• Transfers of WEVER via the Octus Bridge are temporarily suspended;
• Transactions involving EVER and WEVER on major centralized exchanges have been paused pending the conclusion of our investigation;
• A formal complaint has been lodged with the South Korean authorities;
• A request has been issued to fully suspend all exchange accounts implicated in this crime.

Proposal

To reinstate regular trading and cross-chain transfers of WEVER, we propose the following steps:

1. Deploy a new WEVER ERC-20 smart contract and immediately connect it to Octus Bridge;
2. Redirect all trading activities on centralized platforms to this new token;
3. Introduce an automated process to facilitate the exchange of the old WEVER ERC-20 tokens for the new version. This procedure will integrate semi-automated Anti-Money Laundering (AML) screenings to discern any connections with the misappropriated funds;
4. Offer current WEVER ERC-20 token stakeholders an appeals mechanism if their funds do not pass the AML screening;
5. Set a final date for this exchange process on April 22, 2024. After this deadline, the old WEVER ERC-20 token will be considered obsolete and burned. The equivalent amount of frozen WEVER TIP-3 tokens on the Everscale platform will then be unfrozen, converted, and reallocated to the network's treasury.

In line with the recently adopted Proposal #110, we are setting the below procedure for swapping the old WEVER ERC-20 (0x29d578cec46b50fa5c88a99c6a4b70184c062953) with the new one (0x1ffefd8036409cb6d652bd610de465933b226917).

Please follow this procedure to swap your tokens:

1. Send all your WEVER tokens in one transaction to the following address in Ethereum, managed by the Everscale DeFi Alliance (the "Alliance"): 0xe29B04B9c6712080f79B2dAc5211B18B279D5DE0;
2. For BNB Chain tokens, please send them to 0xbF13DBbf86B6B1cc02a4169Dde38E16862C77a0a;
3. Fill the form below to let us know about your transaction and perform subsequent AML checks;
4. In case of questions, we may request from you an additional information via the provided email address. In case of no answer within two weeks, the ticket is considered closed and no swap will be performed;
5. The payment team will release the transfer of new tokens after receiving the final confirmation from the AML team.
