THORChain's blockchain will undergo an upgrade on 4 September 2024 at 4pm UTC, estimated at block 17561740 No action is required by any user Exchanges, wallets, and dApps must prepare to ensure a seamless transition for your users.
What is being upgraded during the hard fork?
- Cosmos SDK version upgrade from 45.1 to 45.16
- Remove obsolete legacy code
- Remove unnecessary Cosmos modules
- Trim node state for faster sync (>1 TB)
- Add support for Bitcoin Taproot addresses
This is a routine upgrade/planned maintenance that must be performed in a hard fork, rather than the usual chain upgrade path. Again, no action is required by any user Interfaces must prepare to ensure the proper support of the new Chain ID
